Quality Fine Arts Classes

For Homeschoolers

Mission Statement: To facilitate Godly influenced fine arts training for homeschool families in a positive environment.

  • G.I.F.T. is a non-profit enrichment program run by volunteers that offers fine arts classes to homeschoolers of all ages (pre-school - adult).
  • Classes are taught by paid, professional, Christian teachers and are open to all homeschoolers.  GIFT is not a co-op.  GIFT is non-denominational.
  • Classes are held on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the N.W. suburbs of Chicago at Church of the Brethren 783 W. Highland Ave., Elgin, IL 60123.  (Please do not contact the church for GIFT information.)
  • GIFT classes run from Sept. - May and are not divided into semesters.  Please note that some teachers may allow students to join mid-year.  See the Schedule button on the left for details. 
  • GIFT classes include:
    • American Historic Girls Theater, You Can Fly -Boys Theater, Teen Theater, Show Stoppers -Family Theater
    • Wood Sculpting, Jewelry Making
    • Arts & Crafts, Drawing Adventure, Drawing & Painting, Art Studio, Teen Art
    • Christian Dance -Ballet, Tap, Jazz
    • Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Piano, Tuba, Baritone, Trumpet 
    • Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Trombone, Percussion, Bells
    • Voice
    • Beginning & Advanced Sewing, Beginning & Advanced Knitting & Crochet
    • Spanish, French
    • Journalism, Teen Journalism
    • Chess, Robotics
  • At the end of the GIFT year, students present what they have learned in two special free Evenings of the Arts programs on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington and Monday, May 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Brethren in Elgin.  Join us and see what GIFT is all about.
  • Parents are always welcome to sit in and quietly observe their student's classes.
  • A parent or guardian must remain on site with their student, or find another adult who will be responsible for their student.
  • A silent study room, lunch area,  toddler room, and family waiting area are available to waiting family members.
  • We encourage you to visit our program.
