Note: The Student Supply Fee is the estimated cost that a student will spend to purchase their own necessary supplies for the class for the year. The Teacher Supply Fee is the cost of supplies that the teacher will provide for the student generally at the beginning of the year.
This class introduces the students to the love of dance. Easy ballet and tap basics will be taught to lay a foundation with which they can grow, but the focus is mainly to begin to train them to see dance as another art form to use creatively. Female students will need a pink short or long sleeved leotard, no sleeveless, please, pink tights, pink ballet slippers ($10-$15), tap shoes ($10-$15), and a dance skirt is optional. Male students will need a white T-shirt, black dance pants, black ballet shoes ($10-$15), and tap shoes ($10-$15). A costume costing approximately $20 will be required for the end of year recital. This class is suitable for students with and without dance experience. In this class we will begin to focus on the intricacies and disciplines of dance. This class begins the more serious aspects of learning specific steps and routines for ballet and tap dance. Female students will need a black short or long sleeved leotard, no sleeveless, please, pink tights, pink ballet slippers ($10-$15), tap shoes ($10-$15), and an optional dance skirt or dance pants. Male students will need a black T-shirt, black dance pants, black ballet shoes ($10-$15), and tap shoes ($10-$15). A costume costing approximately $25 will be required for the end of year recital. Dance III -Mrs. Strong

This class is suitable for students with and without dance experience. It will continue in ballet and tap training, but will also add training in jazz dance. The incremental discipline will continue to be higher for this class as students are ready for more challenging, but still enjoyable, learning. Students provide all black dance wear, (leotard long or 3/4 sleeve, tights, ballet or jazz shoes, tap shoes, T-shirt for boys) and an optional dance skirt or dance pants. Also, this year we must adhere to our policy of parents watching classes from either start to finish, or leaving and entering the classroom during the shoe change time only. Siblings will not be allowed in the classroom. It is not that we do not welcome parents, but we have found that the entering and leaving at several tiems during the class time coupled with even the most well mannered sibling whispering or moving has proven to be highly detrimental to the student's learning and focus. We thank you very much for your understanding.
As far as finding the proper attire for your child, Walmart and Target carry most of what you will need for the younger students. Payless carries dance shoes of all kinds. You can find less expensive dance wear online at Dance Distributors or Discount Dance Supply for all ages. I prefer Discount Dance Supply.
